Bank Support Worker – Devon Lodge

We are Cygnet Group, working at Devon Lodge, and we are looking for an experienced Bank Support Worker. This role offers flexibility to choose shifts/hours that suit you.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting and assisting residents in their day‑to‑day lives
  • Assisting residents with cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene while promoting independence
  • Attending local community events, networks and venues including cinemas, swimming baths and nightclubs
  • Promoting and supporting personal development and learning new life skills
  • Updating and recording resident records to help monitor health and well‑being
  • Providing emotional and physical support
The Service

Devon Lodge is a specialist residential service for adults with autism and learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective environment, promoting independence and community integration. Person‑centred planning is at the heart of everything we do, based on each person’s specific needs.

People We Support
  • Adults from the age of 18 years
  • Individuals with a diagnosis of autism and learning disability
  • May present with behaviours that challenge
  • May have communication challenges
  • May have associated complex needs
  • May have an ECHP (Education Healthcare Plan)
  • May be subjected to DoLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) or Care Orders
What We Look For
  • Previous care experience working with adults with autism or learning disabilities (Desirable)
  • Understanding of challenging behaviour (Desirable)
  • Positive attitude and caring approach (Required)
  • Strong communication skills (Required)
  • Able to work as part of a team (Required)
  • Flexible approach to support work and shift patterns to facilitate a range of community activities (Required)
