Southampton Children's Hospital PHDU is excited to recruit a Band 5 Registered Nurse to a permanent position. Our PHDU is co-located next to our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), providing excellent opportunities to develop your clinical skills.
We are a friendly and supportive team, offering extensive opportunities to develop Level 2 competencies, with guidance and support from our dedicated education team, senior nurses and Ward Leader.
We are looking for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with recent experience working in an acute paediatric environment.
- Recent acute paediatric experience
- Ability and flexibility to work a full 24-hour shift pattern (days, nights, weekends)

Jobresponsibilities
To provide a high standard of individualised nursing care in accordance with agreed policies, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for individual patients.
To train learners and other nursing staff in the ward environment
Person Specification Qualifications, knowledge and experience- Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
- Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
- Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
- Understanding of personal accountability
- Knowledge of own role within the team
- Provide evidence of teaching and supporting learners in practice in the role of practice supervisor
- Awareness of evidence-based practice
- Awareness of responsibilities for management of infection control
- Evidence of on-going personal development
- Able to use initiative
- Evidence of recent study
- Previous experience/qualification in relevant specialty
- Teaching experience
- Working Together
- Always Improving
