Overview

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit an experienced telephony manager to work within the network and telecoms team to deliver the next generation voice service to the trust. You will be responsible for overseeing the existing Cisco telephony service and contributing to the next generation voice connectivity as the trust embarks on a new direction in 2026.

Demonstrable experience of Cisco UCM and Teams Telephony is essential, while awareness of other service suppliers and the NHS National Shared Tenant is a distinct advantage. This role combines technical expertise with leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement to support seamless communication across the organization. You must therefore be able to articulate advantages in the different voice technologies whilst considering the impact that AI will have on such technologies.

You will provide full end-to-end Telephony Management through support of the Trust's telephony systems, ensuring security, compliance, and functionality. You will manage incidents, monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.

Your leadership skills will provide direction, support and development opportunities to the team whilst ensuring the voice service evolves with the future direction of the Trust.

Through service improvements you will actively help drive the direction of change in 2026 and beyond, innovate where appropriate and remain open to the impact AI and automation can have on voice technology. Stakeholder Engagement will ensure you work closely with all sectors of the organisation to understand their needs and then through collaboration with other Digital teams, ensure seamless voice integration throughout.

Communicate complex technical issues and solutions to a wide range of stakeholders, including digital colleagues, senior management, clinical staff and external partners. You will manage relationships with external Vendor and Suppliers, ensuring value for money and that service level agreements are met. Maintain comprehensive documentation of telephony systems, configurations, and processes whilst providing regular reports on all telephony matters.
