* About the role:

**** Reports to the Financial Reporting Manager*
* ** What you'll be doing
*** Assist with all aspects of accounting matters, supporting and assisting with the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements and ad-hoc investor requests
* Develop an increasing client presence, taking a lead in regular client calls and correspondence
* Assist with the completion of routine audit queries and some aspects of company secretarial matters including preparation of filings for regulatory bodies
* Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide or source supporting documentation evidencing transactions
* Prepare drawdown and distribution calculations plus notices on an ad hoc basis when requested by clients
* Ensure Aztec internal control frameworks are followed in full
* Maintain accurate records on company systems and Microsoft Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of bookkeeping
* Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns to the extent relevant
* Assist and support the induction, integration and training of junior staff.
* Support with and/or complete fund administration processes as required.
** What we're looking for
*** The candidate will be expected to be studying towards a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Fundamental Skills level or ACA Professional level)
* 2+ years previous experience in Accounting or Audit, ideally in the alternative funds sector (either in-house with a fund manager or a fund administrator)
* Sound technical knowledge of UK GAAP and reporting required for the alternative funds sectors
* Computer literacy, word processing and spreadsheet skills are essential
* Strong collaboration skills and passionate team player
* Good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
* Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a ‘can-do’ attitude
