We are seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join a company in the manufacturing industry based in Southampton. This temporary role requires expertise in accounting and finance to manage financial operations effectively.

Client Details:
This organization is a small-sized enterprise within the manufacturing industry. They are committed to maintaining high standards in their operations and fostering a results-focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
  • Provide clear financial reporting and insight directly to the CEO.
  • Prepare financial packs, analysis, and commentary for Board meetings.
  • Produce budgets, forecasts, and cashflow projections to support strategic planning.
  • Act as a finance business partner to operational and senior stakeholders, explaining financial performance in a clear, non-technical manner.
  • Support manufacturing and operations teams with cost analysis, margin reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Monitor and control costs and support efficiency.
  • Lead and support month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with statutory reporting and financial compliance.
  • Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Provide ad-hoc commercial analysis and decision support as required.
Profile
  • Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar role.
  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) preferred; strong QBE candidates considered.
  • Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrable experience communicating financial information to non-finance professionals, including senior leadership.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP or accounting systems.
  • Confident, clear communicator with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to work autonomously.
Job Offer
  • Competitive daily rate of GBP £235 to £260 (Umbrella rate).
