To help us deliver exceptional service we are seeking to recruit a Marina Operative Dry Stack to assist with marina operations at Saxon Wharf. Dry Stacking is an increasingly popular way to store motorboats up to 10 metres; it is a large racking system which is up to four racks high, where we store our customers’ boats safely and securely.
The advertised role involves lifting vessels in and out of the water with our specifically designed negative lift forklift within our Dry Stack facility. Please see our website for more information on this service under Dry Stack on our berthing page.
You will be passionate about providing the best possible levels of customer service and will put the safety and the needs of the customer first every time. You will deliver an outstanding customer experience, exceeding expectations daily. This is a full‑time position working up to 48 hours each week (0700‑1900 hrs) on a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off supporting the marina operations activities.
The successful applicant will be required to attend various training in the initial period of employment as part of a full induction process.
- Provide a meet and greet service to all members and visitors
- Oversee the berthing allocations of vessels
- Carry out general maintenance tasks as required
- Lifting vessels in accordance with our safe operating standards
- Ensure the telephone is answered promptly and correctly
- Deal with all customer enquiries promptly and efficiently
- Assist in actively marketing and promoting the marina and associated services
- Maintain the security of the site
- Carry out all duties in line with Company policies, particularly focused on compliance with H&S and Customer Service standards
- Enthusiastic and friendly with a flexible and positive can‑do attitude
- Previous experience in a customer service environment (in a leisure/marina/hospitality industry an advantage)
- General maintenance skills (not essential but an advantage)
- Self‑motivated and able to work without supervision
- Sound awareness of basic health and safety in the workplace
- Confident use of IT systems
- A practical, resourceful and common‑sense approach
- Good practical boating skills/qualifications (not essential but an advantage)
- Previous boat lifting experience (not essential but an advantage)
- Competent swimmer (essential)
- Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
