We are currently recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Technician to join a well established engineering business. This role would suit a hands on engineer with strong experience across mechanical systems and a working knowledge of basic electrics.

The successful candidate will have proven experience working with gearboxes, mechanical drives, engines, hydraulic systems, and lifting equipment. You will be responsible for maintenance, fault-finding, repair, and support of mechanical equipment, working to high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include

Maintain, repair, and fault-find on gearboxes, mechanical drives, engines, and hydraulic systems
Inspect and service lifting equipment in line with safety standards
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities
Perform basic electrical fault-finding and component replacement
Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals
Ensure all work is completed safely and accurately, with documentation completed as required

Skills and Experience

Experience with gearboxes, mechanical drives, and engines
Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems
Experience inspecting and maintaining lifting equipment
Basic electrical knowledge (motors, wiring, fault finding)
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
