Contract We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a civil engineering project in Suffolk, focused on clean water pipework works. This is a permanent opportunity offering involvement across the full project lifecycle on a technically challenging infrastructure scheme delivered under NEC Option A . The role will suit a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a strong civils background, ideally within water or utilities environments.
The Role As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing project costs, commercial reporting, and contractual administration, ensuring works are delivered in line with contractual, legal, and quality requirements. You will work closely with site and commercial teams and support the delivery of strong commercial outcomes across the project.
Key Responsibilities Preparation of internal commercial reporting and management information Preparation of valuations and applications for payment, including supporting documentation Production of client cost reports in line with contractual requirements Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules Administration of subcontractor and supplier accounts, including interim payments and final accounts Contract administration, including change management and maintenance of associated registers Identification and management of commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change Use of internal costing systems to control cost and forecast project performance About You To be successful in this role, you will have: A relevant industry qualification Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of standard forms of contract and methods of measurement Experience working within a civil engineering or construction environment General civils experience, ideally including water or utilities projects Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint Good communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Ability to work independently while contributing to wider project objectives Whats on Offer Long-term permanent role on a stable, well-funded infrastructure project Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunity to work on essential clean water infrastructure
