Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Role Overview:
Ocean Infinity is seeking an ambitious, collaborative and innovative Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will join the Geotechnical - Service Delivery Team and be responsible for the technical delivery of offshore geotechnical site investigations, including supervision of extensive onshore laboratory testing campaigns and subsequent geotechnical/site characterisation reporting.

What Will You Do
  • Geotechnical Delivery: Technical delivery of offshore geotechnical campaigns, including multi‑vessel solutions and a range of seafloor and drilling equipment to meet project and client specifications.
  • Data Delivery and Quality Assurance: Ensure the creation of robust, accurate, and timely geotechnical deliverables, adhering to relevant international standards and in‑house procedures. Review and approve all geotechnical data and associated deliverables generated during a campaign.
  • Technical Project Management: Technically manage geotechnical projects, ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and client specifications within project timelines.
  • Client and Team

    Collaboration:

    Liaise and communicate clearly with both Ocean Infinity’s and our client’s project teams to ensure informed and appropriate site‑investigation technical decisions are made, and that project requirements are met.
  • Laboratory Testing and Oversight: Develop and manage project‑specific laboratory test schedules and specifications, ensuring accurate data interpretation and integration into deliverables.
  • Innovation and Process Improvement: Contribute towards forward‑thinking initiatives and geotechnical innovations to enhance workflows, data analysis and deliverable quality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to refining geotechnical data processing and reporting procedures to maintain operational excellence and industry leadership.
  • Technical Support: Collaborate with the Technical Asset Team, Operations Team, and Commercial Team to provide geotechnical expertise for equipment, procedures, and tender proposals.
  • HSE Compliance: Adhere to Ocean Infinity’s management system policies, ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are met during offshore operations.
Who You Are
  • Education: Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 6 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong focus on offshore geotechnical data acquisition and delivery within the offshore energy sector.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of offshore geotechnical methods, including but not limited to Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), borehole sampling, and geophysical survey techniques.
