Site Engineer

I supporting a leading civil engineering contractor who is urgently seeking a Site Engineer with strong setting out experience to join a water treatment project based in Southampton.

This is a 6 month contract role, starting Monday 19th Jan, offering an excellent opportunity for an engineer to play a vital role in the successful delivery of an infrastructure scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all setting out activities on site to ensure works are accurately positioned in line with design this includes setting out pipework.

• Provide day-to-day site engineering support and technical input.

• Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and design teams.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, and environmental standards.

• Assist with site inspections, progress reporting, and issue resolution.

• Produce and maintain accurate site records and documentation.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven site engineering and setting out experience, ideally on water treatment or heavy civils projects.

• Familiar with reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.

• Competent use of surveying equipment (total station, GPS, levels).

• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team.

• CSCS card holder (essential).

• Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or construction.
