Supply Desk is seeking a committed Science Teacher to join a secondary school in central Southampton. The school has just over 1,(Apply online only) students and is rated Good by Ofsted. This is an excellent opportunity to teach across KS3 and KS4 within a supportive and well-organised environment. The role is a long term contract from January until July 2026 with the possibility of a permanent contract, The school will consider ECT’s and experienced Science teachers.

The Science department is well-resourced, offering a balanced mix of practical and theory-based learning. Staff work together to ensure clear expectations and effective support for all students aged 11–16.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
Incorporate practical activities and demonstrations into lessons where appropriate
Track and assess student progress, providing feedback to support improvement
Establish a safe and focused classroom and laboratory environment
Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department on curriculum planning
Maintain consistent behaviour expectations in line with school policies
Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times
What We’re Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or general Science
Ability to motivate and support students with varying abilities
Effective communication and classroom management skills
A reliable, organised, and proactive approach to teaching
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
