An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed theatre practitioner to work as part of the Southampton General Theatre Education Team, focusing on developing, delivering, and managing education across the theatre department. The Theatre Educator will be primarily responsible for teaching and educating all staff and learners within the theatre care group, including our wards and pre‑assessment areas.

Excellent communication and IT skills are essential. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to initiate and sustain new and innovative ways of working that facilitate developments in theatre practice.

You must be an Operating Department Practitioner registered with the Health Professions Council (HCPC) or an NMC registered Nurse (Adult). Theatre experience is essential.

About The Team
  • Monday‑Friday, usually 8‑6 shifts, with possible 12‑9 shifts clinically when required
  • Based in the theatres at UHS, but required to deliver training elsewhere at SGH and Lymington Hospital
  • Theatres have approx. 700 staff, spread over 44 theatres, and multiple sites and complexes
