Pay: MPS/UPS (depending on experience) + SEN Allowance

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, creative Class Teacher to lead a small class of pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties. You will work closely with a team of LSAs, therapists, and senior leaders to deliver a curriculum tailored to individual developmental stages.

Key Details:

Full-time teaching role within a specialist primary environment
Small class sizes with high staff-to-pupil ratios
All pupils have EHCPs with a range of needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing differences, and associated physical or emotional needs
Clear routines and strong behaviour support systems in place
Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons
Lead a class team of LSAs, ensuring consistent support for pupils
Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning, sensory, and communication needs
Work closely with families, therapists, and external agencies
Maintain accurate records and contribute to EHCP reviews
Uphold safeguarding and behaviour support procedures
Foster a positive, calm, and structured learning environment
Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
Experience teaching pupils with SEND (special school experience beneficial but not essential)
Strong understanding of early developmental learning
Confident using visual supports, sensory strategies, and communication systems
Patient, resilient, and committed to pupil wellbeing
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Willingness to undertake specialist training
