Position Overview
Supply Desk is pleased to be supporting a secondary school in Southampton to recruit an English Teacher. This part‑time role begins immediately and will run through to Easter 2026, teaching English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
You’ll be joining an English department that places a strong emphasis on high‑quality teaching, literacy development, and fostering a love of reading and writing. The role is suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners who are passionate about helping students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and well‑structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Support students in developing strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
Assess and monitor progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
Contribute to the department’s curriculum planning and enrichment activities.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement.

What We’re Looking For
A degree in English or a related subject (essential).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred).
Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
A passion for English and a commitment to delivering high‑quality lessons.
A positive, reflective, and collaborative approach.
