Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA)

Salary: £88.95-£100 per day
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a secondary school in Southampton. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting young people in a secondary education setting and who is confident working across a range of subjects and year groups.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide in-class support to pupils across KS3 and KS4
* Offer 1:1 or small group support where required
* Support students with their learning, engagement, and progress
* Assist with classroom management and lesson delivery
* Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
* Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role
* Experience working in a secondary school or with secondary-aged pupils
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A calm, patient, and flexible approach
* Ability to adapt to different subjects and classroom environments
Desirable:
* Experience supporting SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties)
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning)
* Experience working across multiple subject areas
* Knowledge of secondary school expectations and curriculum
