Salary: .71 per day
About the RoleWe are seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to work in schools across the Southampton and Hampshire area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support to pupils, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, physical disabilities and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, external professionals, and families to promote positive outcomes.
- Support pupils in developing social and emotional skills as well as academic progress.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based, care setting or other relevant settings).
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Is resilient, adaptable, and able to use initiative in supporting pupils' needs.
- Is passionate about helping every child achieve success, both academically and personally.
- Ongoing CPD training.
