SALARY: £27,779 FTE / £20,928 Actual Annual Salary (Grade D-Step

LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire (SO30)
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent (term time only)
WORKING HOURS: 32.5 hours per week, 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only, 39 weeks
JOB OVERVIEWAs a Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA you will play a key role in supporting pupils to thrive, working across classes to deliver high-quality learning activities that nurture progress and promote positive behaviour.
The Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA will contribute to whole-class learning, lead small groups and provide one-to-one support where needed, using strong safeguarding awareness and classroom management skills.

DUTIES- Whole Class Support: assisting teachers in the delivery of engaging lessons
- Small Group Teaching: leading targeted learning sessions to support progress
- One-to-One Support: delivering personalised interventions for individual pupils
- Safeguarding Awareness: maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment
- Classroom Management: promoting positive behaviour and learning routines
- Planning Support: preparing resources and contributing to lesson activities
- Assessment Support: monitoring pupil understanding and feeding back to teachers
- Pastoral Support: encouraging pupil confidence, motivation and well-being

Qualification:
recognised Higher Level Teaching Assistant status - School-Based
Experience:
previous experience in a primary or similar setting - Safeguarding Knowledge: understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

- Professional Conduct: ability to act with integrity at all times
- Team Working: collaborative approach with the ability to work independently
- SEN Support
Experience:
experience with additional learning needs - Intervention Delivery: background in leading small-group programmes
- Curriculum Knowledge: familiarity with primary curriculum frameworks
