Job Overview

Please see below for detailed job description of the role.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a skilled, committed and enthusiastic colleague to join our gynae‑oncology centre. Our gynaecology oncology services have seen significant positive developments in recent years, thanks in part to constant trust‑ and executive‑level support for our department. We have recently moved into a purpose‑built, modern, integrated operating theatre at University Hospital Southampton and continue to increase our operating capacity.

Our HIPEC service for interval ovarian cytoreductive surgery is well‑established and a robotic programme is in the pipeline. A well‑rounded surgeon trained in cytoreductive surgery and robotics would be welcomed.

This is a replacement post for a full‑time consultant in gynaecological oncology surgery who is retiring. Planned retirement is in April 2026 and, therefore, this advertised post is a substantive replacement post that will start as soon as possible from April 2026.
