Overview
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us. We wish to appoint a substantive or locum Consultant in histopathology with an interest in pulmonary pathology or gynaecological pathology (ideally both). Opportunities to contribute to adult pathology subspecialities including GI/HPB, urology and cytopathology are available. The service covers the local Southampton population and regional referrals from around Wessex.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the established pulmonary and/or gynaecological pathology subspecialist reporting team, including reporting of histology and cytology specimens, performing/supervising macroscopic dissection and attendance at multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Contribute to at least one other subspecialised reporting team with opportunities in GI/HPB, urology or cytopathology. Other areas of interest, including postmortem work, can also be discussed individually.
- Involved in postgraduate teaching and training of resident doctors. Strong links with University of Southampton provide opportunities to be involved in undergraduate teaching.
