Job Overview
This is a 12‑month Consultant Urologist full‑time role. It is an exciting opportunity to work in a progressive and friendly department with a focus on enhancing our Urology services. We are looking for a consultant who can deliver specialist care in outpatient clinics, perform outpatient procedures (such as LA flexi botox and TULA), and work in theatre.
The successful candidate will attend the Urology MDTs and help develop our pathways, and will work closely with and support the development of our specialist nursing team.
The Salisbury Urology department has expanded over the years to deliver a comprehensive urological service to our community.
Key Duties- Deliver outpatient clinics and perform outpatient procedures (LA flexi botox, TULA, precision point biopsy).
- Participate in emergency and elective theatre work.
- Attend Urology MDTs and contribute to pathway development.
- Support and develop the specialist nursing team.
- Contribute to a 1 in 7 on‑call rota (full time 10PA job plan). The 10 PA weekly job plan includes 8.5 PA direct clinical care (including on‑call duties and DCC admin) and 1.5 PA supporting professional activities.
- Work within the 10 PA whole‑time plan, with consideration for part‑time or flexible working arrangements on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Completed specialist training in urology.
- Entered on the GMC Specialist Register prior to taking up the appointment.
- Experience or readiness to work within the first six months of completion of specialist training.
- Strong clinical skills in outpatient and theatre urology.
- Commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork and pathway development.
- Flexible working arrangements available, including job sharing and part‑time options.
- Minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro‑rata).
