Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Mechanical Contractor delivering a major Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) project in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join a long-term programme within a live, operational environment, ensuring high-quality delivery across all mechanical works.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the coordination, supervision, and safe delivery of site activities, working closely with subcontractors, project teams, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage daily mechanical site operations within a live working environment.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure efficient and safe delivery of works.
Lead and monitor mechanical installation activities to meet project specifications and programme targets.
Maintain and update H&S documentation, method statements, risk assessments, and site reports.
Ensure compliance with all site Health & Safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Support programme planning and monitoring using Microsoft Projects.
Uphold CDM regulations throughout all phases of project delivery.
Liaise with the project team, clients, and external stakeholders to maintain excellent communication and project visibility.
Essential
Qualifications & Skills
Candidates must have the following:
SMSTS
CSCS Card (Managers card preferred)
First Aid at Work
Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations
Proven experience managing mechanical works within complex or live environments
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to lead teams and drive performance to programme and safety standards
Desirable Experience
(Useful but not essential)
Experience working on Decarbonisation, Energy Efficiency, or Public Sector projects
Mechanical trade background
Experience liaising with local authorities, NHS, education, or other live/public-sector sites
