Business Development Manager:
Ocean/Air Southampton Business Development Manager - Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £45,000.00 – £55,000.00
- Monday to Friday
- 9am – 5pm
- Lucrative bonus scheme, 5% – 10%

Reporting to the Divisional General Manager / Divisional Director, you will play a critical role in developing new business at a crucial stage of growth for this branch, for its air and ocean freight services.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities- New business development for the company’s air/ocean freight services
- Prospect for potential new clients, develop, and close business deals
- Cold‑call within your geographic area to build a robust pipeline of opportunities
- Identify potential clients and decision‑makers within the client organization
- Research and build relationships with new clients
- Arrange meetings with prospective clients
- Plan approaches and pitches
- Develop proposals that meet client needs, concerns, and objectives
- Client retention activities
- Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships with clients
- Work with internal colleagues to meet customer needs
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client meetings
- Networking, persuasion, prospecting, research, and writing skills
- Closing skills, sales motivation, prospecting skills, and sales planning
- Ability to identify customer needs and goals
- Strong self‑motivation and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- In‑depth market knowledge and understanding
