Logistics Manager; Citrus

Our client, a leading citrus packing operations company, is seeking to employ a Logistics Manager to join their team at Kirkwood Packing Operations.

An exciting leadership opportunity awaits a highly skilled, organised, and proactive individual.

• Senior Certificate / Grade 12

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in citrus packing or logistics environment

• Formal qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent (advantageous)

• Computer literate (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Supervisory and leadership skills

• Interpersonal skills and team collaboration

• Ability to build trust and contribute to team success

Logistics Operations

• Plan and manage inbound and outbound logistics using productivity measures and JIT principles.

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of warm loads, special requests, and priority targets.

• Analyse packing instructions and coordinate line setups to meet market demand.

• Manage rejected or repacked fruit in line with company protocols.

Compliance and Quality

• Adhere to Health & Safety procedures, BRC, and HACCP standards.

• Identify deviations and implement corrective actions promptly.

Staff Management and Development

• Supervise logistics staff and ensure compliance with company policies.

• Drive skills development and coaching within the team.

• Promote a collaborative and efficient working environment.

Administration and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of logistics activities.

• Monitor key performance metrics and prepare reports for management.

Problem-Solving and Team Support

• Adapt quickly to unforeseen operational changes.

• Resolve logistical and operational challenges proactively.

• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
