Location: Kempton Park

The Sales Consultant is responsible for engaging with potential clients, conducting initial debt assessments, and selling debt counselling services in line with the National Credit Act (NCA). The role focuses on converting qualified leads into signed-up clients while providing ethical, compliant, and client-focused advice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contact and engage potential clients through inbound and outbound calls and digital leads.
  • Conduct affordability and debt assessments to determine client eligibility for debt review.
  • Explain the debt review process, benefits, costs, and legal implications clearly and honestly.
  • Convert qualified leads to active debt counselling clients.
  • Achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets.
Client Consultation & Support
  • Build trust with clients by offering empathetic, professional, and ethical advice.
  • Collect and verify required documentation from clients (income, expenses, credit agreements).
  • Ensure accurate completion of application forms and mandates.
  • Provide ongoing communication and follow-up with clients during onboarding.
Compliance & Administration
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with the National Credit Act and NCR regulations.
  • Maintain accurate client records on CRM systems.
  • Work closely with admin teams to ensure smooth case handovers.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and coaching.
  • Stay up to date with changes in debt counselling legislation and industry practices.
  • Share feedback and insights to improve lead quality and sales processes.
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Fluency in English and Afrikaans is required
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in sales, preferably within debt counselling, financial services, insurance, or call center environments
  • Strong understanding of debt review and the National Credit Act (advantageous)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Target-driven with a strong sales mindset
  • Persuasive and confident communication skills
  • High level of empathy and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to handle objections and close deals
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Working Conditions
