Location: Camperdown
We are currently looking for a Workshop Forman who will be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily workshop operations, ensuring efficient repair and maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles.
Minimum Requirements
- Trade Test as a Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal preferred)
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience as a diesel mechanic
- Proven experience working on FAW, Volvo, FAD, and MAN vehicles
- Previous supervisory or foreman experience in a workshop environment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Sound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
- Valid driver’s licence (Code 10/14 with PDP advantageous).
- Supervise and manage day-to-day workshop activities and staff.
- Must have Automotive experience, Diesel mechanic Experience working on FAW, VOLVO, FAD, and MAN.
- Allocate jobs to mechanics and ensure work is completed efficiently and on time
- Perform and oversee diagnostics, repairs, and servicing of diesel vehicles
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and senior mechanics
- Conduct quality checks on completed work before vehicle release
- Manage breakdowns and urgent repair requests
- Liaise with the parts department to ensure the availability of spares
- Maintain accurate job cards, service records, and workshop reports
- Enforce housekeeping and workshop discipline.
