Area Supervisor

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day security operations and staffing across allocated sites
• Conduct regular site visits, inspections and officer check-ups
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, site instructions and client requirements
• Plan and manage rosters, relief, overtime and leave in line with labour requirements
• Lead, guide and support security officers; address performance and conduct issues
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and respond to queries or complaints
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of incident, inspection and operational reports
• Promote a safe, compliant and professional security service at all times

• Strong supervisory and leadership ability in an operational environment
• Good understanding of labour management (attendance, discipline, basic labour law)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with staff and clients
• Ability to work under pressure and handle incidents or emergencies calmly
• Planning, organising and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer literacy (email, MS Office)
• High level of integrity, reliability and professionalism

• Matric / Grade 12 – essential
• Minimum 2–3 years’ supervisory experience (preferably in security / guarding or a similar services environment)
• Valid driver’s licence – essential
• Firearm competency for business purposes (handgun) – advantageous
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, and to travel between sites
• Valid Grade A Psira Certificate
