Location: Lephalale

A Waiter is responsible for providing exceptional dining service to guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience. The Waiter plays a key role in representing the restaurant’s brand, maintaining service standards, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their meal.
Key Responsibilities
  • Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables when required.
  • Present menus and explain daily specials or promotions.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar.
  • Serve meals and drinks promptly and professionally.
  • Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and handle additional requests.
  • Clear tables efficiently and reset them for the next service.
  • Process payments and handle cash or card transactions correctly.
  • Maintain a clean and organised dining area.
  • Follow all health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Upsell food and beverage items to increase sales.
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate when necessary.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Matric (Grade 12) preferred.
  • Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant, hotel, lodge, or café (advantageous).
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.
  • POS system experience is beneficial.

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to carry trays, plates, and drinks safely.
  • Stamina to work long shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Working Conditions
  • Shifts may include weekends, evenings, public holidays, and split shifts.
  • Work environment includes restaurants, hotels, lodges, bars, or events/banqueting settings.
