Location: Beacon BayFunction Nursing Facility Position Registered Nurse | 2IC Introduction
A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse 2 IC , based at Life Beacon Bay Hospital, General ward 2, reporting to Nonceba Kwana, Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of quality patient care.
Critical Outputs
Ensure professional, ethical practice in the unitProvide and supervise nursing care in accordance with legislation that directly and indirectly governs nursing practiceProvide and supervise nursing care in accordance with ethical codes that directly and indirectly guide nursing practicesAccept accountability and responsibility for own professional actionsAssists the Unit Manager with operational outputs and stands in in the absence of the Unit Manager.Assists in strategic planning of growth projectsEnsure the provision of competent, clinical nursing care in the unitUse the scientific process of nursing to initiate and manage comprehensive nursing care plans that will ensure quality nursing careCoordinate and supervise nursing activities of members of the healthcare team who provide basic careCustomer Satisfaction:
Enhance patient satisfactionUtilise available management tools and strategies to enhance patient experience through continuing quality improvement initiatives CFS and QeAssist in the management of patient complaintsBuild professional relationships with the members of the multi-disciplinary teamCooperate fully with the members of the multi-disciplinary team and independently delivering nursing careAssist in the management of complaints from members of the multi-disciplinary teamSafe Environment:
Assist in maintaining an environment which is both emotionally and physically safeUtilise available management tools and participate in pro active management strategies to ensure an emotionally and physically safe patient environment SHEQ and infection controlBusiness Efficiency:
Contribute to business efficiency through cost effective patient care, interdepartmental cooperation and economic use of all resourcesUtilise and supervise adherence to interdepartmental requirements with regard to stock management, case management and billingCoaching and mentor staffAssist in the performance management of the unit staffAssist in staff development through the provision of appropriate on the job in-service educationParticipate in staff recognition and reward management strategiesRequirements
General Nursing Degree / DiplomaRegistration with SANCDiploma in speciality if applicableRelevant experience and technical skill to meet the critical outputsUnderstanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantageComputer proficiency would be an advantageCompetencies
