Overview

A leading mining equipment and machinery organisation is seeking an experienced Operator Trainer to deliver operator training, assessments, and certification across multiple sites. The ideal candidate must have strong trackless mining experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to train operators at various skill levels. This role requires frequent travel, underground work, and close collaboration with technical and production teams.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12
  • Competent B (mandatory)
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Minimum 5 years’ trackless mining operator experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong communication, presentation, and administrative skills
  • Ability to train individuals at different skill levels
  • Willingness to travel to various sites for training
  • Medically fit to work underground
  • Self?motivated, disciplined, and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines

Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery

• Ensure operators are competent and certified before operating machinery
  • Deliver training suitable for varying skill levels

Training Material Development

• Develop and maintain up?to?date operator training documentation
  • Create training material for new machines in collaboration with technical and production teams
  • Update training material following machine or specification changes
  • Ensure training material aligns with latest machine specifications unless customer requests older versions
  • Identify training opportunities for operator recertification and technical upskilling
  • Prepare training proposals
  • Assist with technical training when required

Assessment & Certification

• Conduct practical and theoretical assessments on customer sites
  • Provide feedback to customers regarding retraining needs
  • Assess in?house employees when required
  • Issue competency licences and attendance certificates
  • Maintain training registers and records
  • Record all training activities, follow up on quotes and orders
  • Support ad?hoc Training Academy requirements
