Artisan - Die Maker

Position Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting and problem-solving;
• Respond to emergency call-outs
• Grind components and tapered surfaces.
• Manufacture components from drawing that’s needed to build Die`s or to make changes to existing parts.
• Read and interpret charts, drawings and blueprints.
• Determine product specification such as dimensions & tolerances
• Follow SWI on all equipment to be used such as press, air grinder, Pedestal drill and hand tools.
• Lift or hoist work pieces.
• Utilize micro meters, callipers, Verniers and present gauge.
• Welding and repair chipped or broken plates.
• Plan activities on daily basis to improve die output for presses and minimize waiting periods for die builders
• Develop and marking off of profiles from a drawing 100% correct
• Mounting of profiles on die and cut to size 100% correct.
• Mark off cut drill charger plates
• Mark off cut weld deck plates
• Mark off cut weld deck plates

Role responsibilities:

• Ensure all tools are in safe and working order.
• Provide quality control by inspecting work pieces as they are done and identify defective pieces.
• Operating grinder, including polishing and grinding equipment.
• Keep all equipment running by inspecting and performing basic maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning. Communicate to team leader any abnormalities
• Understand the formula ( SIN/COS/TAN ) needed for typer calculation.
• Identifying correct hardness of plates and be able to test Rockwell.
• Using measuring equipment correctly.
• Work neat and clean all packers properly
• Be able to make adjustments as quickly as possible to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Specify:
  Grade 12 / Matric
• Qualified Die Maker / N3 essential
