Purpose of the RoleTo oversee the safe and efficient operation of the LPG plant ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating LPG processing equipment demonstrate attention to detail and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities- Operate LPG processing equipment including compressors pumps valves and pipelines.
- Monitor process parameters and perform inspections to ensure proper functioning of equipment and adherence to safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and line-ups for transferring LPG to various tanks.
- Manage the offloading and loading of road tankers.
- Blend LPG to prescribed vapour pressures.
- Conduct safety inspections and participate in safety meetings to promote safety awareness and compliance.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of plant operations equipment maintenance and safety inspections.
- Respond to emergencies and minimise risks to personnel and the environment.
- National Certificate in Chemical Operations or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical or chemical engineering is advantageous.
- Proven experience as a plant operator in the oil and gas industry specifically with LPG processing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with equipment operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for handling and storing hazardous materials including LPG.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and emergency response capability.
- Willingness to work overtime including nights weekends and public holidays.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting climbing and working in confined spaces.
