• Ensuring safety for own section, including FPS compliance on level 5, LBIs, PSIFs, Safety Meetings, Forum 4, Pact Agreements, SFAs and statutory cards. Managing all safety, health, environmental and business risks for own section
• Oversee and manage Execution Teams, to effectively and efficiently execute scheduled work, ensure high level of work execution quality and balance Execution Team resources, across area of responsibility, based on plant priorities and business needs. Also ensure that proper feedback is given to Plant Team via job cards for them to improve Work Identification, Planning and Scheduling. (Manage the Execution Teams and related logistics for an area of responsibility)
• Manage the mechanical and electrical maintenance for execution teams who deliver services to BOF, Secondary Metallurgy, Caster and outside services, Steel Making.
• Manage planning and execution of all Steel Making planned shutdowns.
• Develop and maintain excellent employee and union relationships.
• Compile and execute maintenance strategies for above areas.
• Managing maintenance systems for own areas.
• Actively driving continuous improvement and identifying cost saving ideas.
• Managing training requirements for complete section and ensuring competency of subordinates as far as managerial, technical and safety is concerned.
• Coach and develop supervisory levels and high potential candidates

• B-Eng. Degree (NQF 8/10) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
