Appointment will be on a fixed‑term performance‑based contract for a period not exceeding one year after the election of the next council of the municipality.

A competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience and proven competence is on offer, plus a 7% rural allowance.

At least a Bachelor Degree in Public Administration / Political Sciences / Law; or equivalent relevant qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework at a NQF Level 7 with a minimum of 360 credits. Completion of Unit Standards prescribed in regulation 3 of the Municipal Regulations on Minimum Municipal Competency levels (GNR. 493 published under GG. 29967, dated 15 June 2007, read with GNR.

1146 published under GG. 41996, dated 26 October 2018) or completion of the prescribed Unit Standards within 18 months from the date of appointment.

• To assume responsibilities as the Accounting Officer and Head of Administration
• To provide strategic leadership for the municipality to achieve its mandate
• Responsible for formation and development of effective, efficient, economically viable and accountable administration through management of all internal municipal departments
