Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly driven and experienced Contracts Manager to oversee business development, client relationship management, and the effective delivery of recruitment and staffing services within the Waste Management and Recycling industry.

The successful individual will be responsible for expanding the client base, managing associate placement and compliance, and ensuring operational excellence in line with organisational goals.

  • Develop new business and grow existing client accounts.
  • Manage, support, and lead the operational team to deliver high-quality service.
  • Maintain statutory and legislative compliance to mitigate legal and operational risks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client & Contract Management.

  • Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Ensure all services are delivered in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide strategic insights and feedback to clients based on trends and forecasts.

2. Associate & Team Management

  • Oversee effective recruitment, placement, and attendance management of Associates.
  • Ensure accurate communication of movements, schedules, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage and support direct reports, providing regular feedback to the Business Line Manager.

3. Operational Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to statutory requirements including BCOE, WCA/IOD, Health & Safety, and relevant Bargaining Council regulations.
  • Minimise legal and financial risks through strong compliance processes.

4. Cost & Profitability Management

  • Maintain and/or improve profit margins through effective cost-to-serve management.
  • Monitor operational expenses and ensure contract profitability.

5. Reporting & Strategy

  • Prepare accurate reports, forecasts, and strategy recommendations.
  • Track business trends to support operational planning and decision-making.

6. Internal Collaboration

  • Build productive working relationships with Payroll, Finance, Compliance, and Quality teams.
  • Contribute to an efficient organisational workflow and consistent service delivery.

  • Solid understanding of Basic Conditions of Employment Act, (BCEA/BCOE)
    WCA / IOD procedures, Health & Safety regulations, Employee benefits,
    Bargaining Councils
Experience & Qualification
  • Proven experience in key account management, recruitment operations, or staffing services.
  • Experience working with industrial clients is advantageous.
  • Strong operational, compliance, and client management background.
  • Diploma
  • Waste Management and Recycling industry experience
