Job Description:

Shell is looking to hire an Instrumentation & Control Co-op Student for a 4 or 8 month student term at our Sarnia Manufacturing Centre.

The Sarnia Manufacturing Centre, Corunna Refinery is located on the St. Clair Parkway, about 10 kilometers south of Sarnia between the communities of Froomfield and Corunna. The refinery processes approx. 75,000 bbl of raw crude into a range of petroleum products such as diesel, jet fuel and various petrochemicals. Shell, Sarnia Refinery has approximately 350 employees.

This position reports to the Maintenance Team Leader in the Maintenance Department who is accountable to provide Instrumentation, Electrical and Analyzer Maintenance at our Sarnia facility. This position will work a Day Worker Schedule called “AWS” which is a Monday to Friday schedule with approximately every 3rd Friday off.

The Instrumentation & Control Co-op student will display:

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in Instrument & Control Engineering Technology (ICET) program
  • A keen interest in learning and developing new skills
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic/electronic flow/pressure/temperature transmitters
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada for anyone other than current employer
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather
  • Must reside within the area or be willing to relocate
  • Using safe lifting techniques, able to lift and carry 20 kg from ground to waist level
  • Willing to comply with Shell's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Willing to work in a diverse and team-oriented environment
