Overview

Reporting to the Senior Category Manager (IT and Communications), the incumbent will be responsible for providing guidance on corporate governance, negotiating, and drafting contracts, risk management, and the development of plans and policies.

Qualifications
  • BCom Honours Law or LLB
  • Admitted Attorney is advantageous
Experience
  • 2-3 years experience
Duties
  • Manage all legal affairs related to the structure of the organisation, its commercial licenses, and commercial law compliance
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with vendors, various legal authorities and external counsel
  • Provide legal advice to the business and its leaders
  • Identifying and mitigating legal risks
  • Helping to draft, vet and negotiate contracts
  • Advising on the legal implications of company policies and procedures
  • Ensuring all contracts, legal documents and templates are up-to-date and compliant with statutory laws
  • To proactively and efficiently facilitate the business of the Group by efficiently reviewing, drafting and negotiating business contracts and providing legal advice to the Group, to ensure that the legal agreements, matters and advice in relation to the Company’s dealings with external business partners are legal and comply with The Group policies and procedures in a manner which fully protects the businesses legal and commercial interests
  • Identify, manage, mitigate, and provide recommendations against all associated legal risks and escalates same to the Head of Legal Advisor for assessment
  • Assisting with the review, amendment and/or drafting of Group policies, procedures and templates across the business area functions within areas of responsibility to minimise legal risks
  • Drafting of correspondence, contracts and legal matter management documentation
