KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The purpose of this position is to ensure that claims are processed in terms of the policies and procedures of the Company and that payments to attorneys are duly authorised and effected in accordance with standards established by the Company and the Scorpion Legal Protection Policy Document.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Application of Legal Principles:
Assessing merits on matters and applying legal principles in line with policy - Drafting & attending to Correspondence:
Attending to drafting and responding to correspondence on behalf of clients - Reporting and Quality Assurance:
Daily & weekly file audits and quality assurance of legal work in branch - Liaison with Attorneys and Clients:
Attend to obtaining advice and instructions, authorising claims - Liaison with Clients and Staff:
Dealing with and minimising complaints/conflict between staff and clients
Education:
Must have Matric (Grade 12); and must have completed legal degree (LLB or B Proc, B Juris, BLC or B Com/BA Law). Admitted Attorney (essential).
Experience
At least 3-4 year’s legal practice experience; completion of SLADP would be advantageous. Knowledge and Experience in Civil Law essential;
Knowledge and experience in Court procedures. Other
Must be computer literate; specifically, MS Word, Excel and Outlook
General working conditions
Regular office environment and no health and safety risks involved. No travel involved.
