Product Manager

ROLE PURPOSE

The Product Manager – Compliance Terminal Solutions (CTS) is responsible for the strategic direction, development, and lifecycle management of digital compliance products, with a primary focus on the digitisation of Lamproom operations within the mining sector.

The role will drive the transformation of traditional Lamproom into integrated digital compliance ecosystems, ensuring alignment with operational mining requirements and Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) regulations. The candidate will oversee the development of scalable, audit-ready digital platforms that enhance traceability, reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

This position plays a critical role in positioning CTS as a strategic compliance solution within Schauenburg Systems' digital portfolio.

1.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Product Strategy & Roadmap

Define and maintain the CTS product vision and long-term strategy.

Develop and manage a structured product roadmap aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Identify opportunities to digitise and automate Lamproom and compliance processes.

Translate operational and regulatory requirements into clear product specifications.

Lamproom Digitisation & System Development

Lead the digitisation of Lamproom operations, including:

Equipment issuance and return tracking

Miner allocation control

Gas detection allocation and calibration tracking

Shift-based compliance verification

Oversee development of new digital modules such as:

Self-service compliance terminals

Identity-based equipment control (e.g., biometric/RFID integration)

Real-time compliance dashboards

Automated audit and exception reporting

Ensure system integration with related mining technologies and enterprise systems.

Regulatory Compliance (DMR Alignment)

Ensure CTS products fully support DMR regulatory requirements and reporting standards.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mining safety legislation impacting Lamproom and compliance systems.

Design systems capable of producing accurate, audit-ready compliance documentation.

Engage with mine safety officers and compliance managers to validate regulatory alignment.

Project & Delivery Management

Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines.

Oversee pilot deployments, site trials, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Ensure proper documentation and configuration control, including:

Functional specifications

Regulatory mapping documents

System architecture documentation

Training materials

Test results and compliance records

Manage risks related to system reliability, regulatory exposure, and operational disruption.

Stakeholder Management

Interface with internal and external stakeholders including:

Mine Management

Lamproom Supervisors

Safety and Compliance Officers

IT Departments

Executive Leadership

Communicate product progress, regulatory considerations, and risk factors.

Support sales and commercial teams with technical and compliance positioning.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

Monitor product performance, compliance accuracy, and operational efficiency metrics.

Drive continuous improvement through system enhancements and feature upgrades.

Use analytics to reduce equipment loss, improve traceability, and strengthen compliance controls.

2.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

Matric

Must Have at least a Diploma in Software development.

HCM or Degree in software development, business development will be an advantage

Experience

Demonstrated experience in Lamproom management or direct involvement in Lamproom operational systems.

Proven experience in implementing or managing digital or compliance-based systems.

Strong understanding of DMR regulations relating to miner safety, equipment control, and compliance reporting.

Experience managing cross-functional technical development projects
