Job Purpose
Our client, a well-established company in the manufacturing / commercial sector, is seeking an experienced Payroll professional to manage a large, high-volume payroll. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for payroll operations, statutory compliance, and reporting, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Full payroll function for 500+ employees
- End-to-end payroll processing on Sage 300
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including MIBCO, PAYE, UIF, SDL, and other relevant legislation
- Manage payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting
- Liaise with HR, finance, and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and documentation
- Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and deadlines
- 10–15 years’ payroll experience, preferably within the manufacturing or commercial industry
- Proven experience managing a large payroll (500+ employees)
- Hands-on experience with Sage 300 (essential)
- Solid working knowledge of MIBCO and related industry regulations
- Strong understanding of South African payroll legislation
- Stable employment history – preference will be given to candidates with long-term tenure in previous roles
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
