Job Description
Restaurant Manager – Luxury Lodge – Hoedspruit
Salary: R20,800 (Live-in)
Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting for a polished and service-driven Restaurant Manager to join a luxury lodge in the Hoedspruit area. This role is ideal for an experienced hospitality professional with strong leadership abilities, a refined eye for detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest dining experiences across multiple venues.
Key Requirements
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar Restaurant Manager role within a luxury lodge or high-end hospitality environment
Proven experience managing à la carte service for up to 165 guests, including buffet service and outdoor functions
Experience overseeing multiple dining venues simultaneously
Strong understanding of international service standards and diverse cultural service requirements
Ability to communicate in multiple languages is advantageous
Strong leadership, training, and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Calm and effective under pressure, with strong multitasking capability
High attention to detail and refined service standards
Effective administrative and organisational skills
Knowledge of restaurant management systems is advantageous
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
Valid driver’s licence
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of all restaurant and dining venues, ensuring exceptional service standards and guest satisfaction
Manage, train, and motivate waiter and service staff, fostering a professional and positive working environment
Act as the first and last point of guest interaction, ensuring a lasting impression across all dining experiences
Handle guest enquiries, special requests, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and discretion
Coordinate reservations, seating, and service flow across all dining venues
Supervise waitstaff and coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery
Collaborate with the culinary team on menu updates and service trends
Drive wine list standards, service execution, and staff training
Oversee beverage and bar operations, including team training and service standards
Manage floor plans, guest-to-waiter allocations, and service logistics
Create and manage staff rosters in line with operational requirements
Oversee inventory control and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Maintain the ambiance of dining areas, including lighting, music levels, cleanliness, and overall presentation
Implement and oversee cultural competency training to ensure staff adapt to diverse guest service expectations
