Lodge Ops & Field Assistant

Volunteer Afrika SA is seeking to appoint a motivated individual
, to join our lodge and conservation operations team.

This role offers hands-on exposure to guest experience, lodge management, and wildlife conservation in a unique bush environment.

Guest Experience & Hospitality

• Guest management and hosting

• Ensuring a high standard of guest experience across all touchpoints

• Assisting with daily lodge operations related to guests

Lodge Management Support

• Supporting selected lodge management and operational duties

• Assisting with infrastructure oversight and upkeep

• General operational support as required

Conservation & Reserve Operations

• Assisting with animal management activities

• Supporting game capture operations (where appropriate)

• Involvement in veld management and conservation-related tasks

• Valid PRDP (Professional Driving Permit)

• Valid ARH (Advanced Rifle Handling)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Willingness to work in a remote bush environment

• Interest in hospitality, conservation, and lodge operations

• Must be highly driven

• Accommodation provided on-site

• Options include luxury safari tents or private rooms with en-suite bathrooms

• Starting salary: R8,500 per month for the first year

• Tips: All tips belong to the candidate

Work Schedule & Time Off

• From May to September
  , the camp is very busy with volunteers coming through back-to-back, and time off during this period can be difficult

• During the rest of the year, the candidate will be able to take one week off per month

• Time off arrangements can be discussed during interview

• A phone will be provided
  , or alternatively a phone contract allowance can be arranged

• Meals are included when clients are in camp

• When there are no clients in camp, the candidate will need to arrange their own meals

• All facilities and equipment for food preparation will be available
