Position: Hostess
Location: Franschhoek
Hospitality Hire is recruiting on behalf of a luxury hotel in the Winelands, managed by an international hospitality management group.
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Hostess or Restaurant Receptionist in 4–5 star hotels or fine dining restaurants | Strong guest service and reservation background | Hospitality qualification advantageous | South African citizenship required

A luxury 5-star property in the Winelands is seeking a polished and professional Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests dining at its restaurant outlets. This role is ideal for a confident hospitality professional who understands the importance of service excellence, organisation, and guest engagement in a refined dining environment.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth and elegant flow of service within the restaurant. The Hostess plays a vital role in setting the tone for the guest experience, coordinating with the service and kitchen teams, and maintaining a calm, welcoming presence during busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
Manage reservations, seating plans, and guest flow
Communicate effectively with the restaurant and kitchen teams
Handle guest enquiries, special requests, and preferences
Maintain a well-organised reception and waiting area
Ensure service standards and brand presentation are upheld
Assist with menu knowledge and basic guest guidance
Support the service team during peak periods
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Hostess, Restaurant Receptionist, or similar role in luxury hotels or fine dining restaurants
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational and time management abilities
Experience with reservation systems and guest databases
Professional appearance and confident guest-facing manner
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Hospitality qualification advantageous
South African citizenship (non-negotiable)
