Location: Grahamstown

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lodge Manager to oversee the full operation of a luxury lodge environment. The successful candidate will be a strong all-rounder with a passion for guest experience, proven leadership ability, and solid business and administrative skills.
This role requires a hands-on professional who thrives in a people-focused environment while maintaining excellent operational control and financial awareness.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction at all times
  • Maintain high standards of service delivery and presentation
  • Engage personally with guests to create memorable experiences
Operations Management
  • Oversee daily lodge operations, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, food & beverage and guiding teams
  • Ensure all departments function efficiently and in alignment with company standards
  • Implement and monitor operational procedures and service standards
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, motivate and manage lodge staff
  • Conduct staff training, performance management and disciplinary processes
  • Foster a positive and professional working environment
Administration & Financial Control
  • Handle all lodge administration and reporting
  • Manage budgets, stock control, procurement and cost management
  • Oversee payroll inputs, rosters and staff records
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements
Business & Strategic Support
  • Support senior management in business planning and development
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and cost efficiency
  • Ensure sustainability of business operations
Job Specifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Previous senior management experience in a lodge or hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills
  • Excellent administrative and organizational abilities
  • Solid financial understanding, budgeting and reporting experience
  • Hands-on operational experience across multiple lodge departments
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
