Applications are invited for a Chief Biomedical Scientist (8A) to join the current team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The Clinical Biochemistry Department provides comprehensive core, immunoassay, point of care, specialist protein, metabolic and toxicology services to the North-East of Scotland, including specialist services to the Orkney and Shetland Islands involving a total catchment population of over 600,000. The Department is accredited by the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS ISO 15189).

The appointee is required to have experience in a Clinical Biochemistry Department Toxicology Section, be a team player, an enthusiastic trainer, to meet the person specification and fulfil the duties described in the job description.

Additional Information

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. There will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
