Rehab Therapy Assistant – Nkanyisa Waverley Care Centre (Germiston)

The successful candidate, reporting to the Physiotherapist, will provide therapeutic and rehabilitation services to persons with physical and mental ailments. They must function as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team, delivering quality and cost‑effective substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation services.

• Ability to follow a treatment plan.
• Identify clients at risk and follow the relevant reporting structure.
• Work in a team environment.
• Identify and deliver on departmental KPIs; prior experience conducting group therapy.
• Monitor and oversee clients’ progress in the wards.
• Maintain clinical documentation.
• Assist clients to identify their need for treatment programs and convey this information to the interdisciplinary team.
• Effectuate instructions of the inter‑disciplinary team to assist clients in meeting all identified treatment needs.
• Understand the multi‑disciplinary team function within a clinical environment.
• Crisis management.
• Oversee and facilitate recreational activities for clients.
• Active participation in CPD and outreach programmes.
• Support the nursing team.
• Ensure that all legislation, standards, and guidelines are met.

• Grade 12.
• Certified Physiotherapy Assistant; registration with the HPCSA is preferential.
• Current registration in possession.
• Rehab experience essential.
• Ability to perform individual and group rehabilitation essential.
• Previous mental health care and frail care treatment experience in a clinical environment an advantage.
