Location: KensingtonFunction Rehabilitation Facility Position Physiotherapist X2 Introduction
A Vacancy exists for a TWO (2)
Physiotherapists at Life New Kensington Clinic. The above position(s) report to the Therapy Unit Manager. The successful candidates will be responsible for Providing Physiotherapy Services for all patients admitted to the Rehabilitation Unit.
Critical Outputs
Function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet the requirements of quality patient careUnderstand the private healthcare industry, and relevant legislation, challenges and role playersEvaluation, programme development and treatment of patient admitted into the rehabilitation unitAssessment and treatment of adult and paediatric patients with a variety of neurological, orthopaedic, spinal and multi-morbidity conditions – CVA, TBI, SCI, fractures, joint replacements, Guillian-Barre, etc in collaboration with other therapy disciplinesEducation of patients and families about patient’s condition and managementParticipation in weekly team meetings and family meetingsActive participation in continuing professional development activities of the unitSupervision and training of therapy assistants and other attendantsActively participate in spasticity management programmeParticipate in discharge planning and caregiver trainingKeep accurate and timeous records and reports.Effectively respond to queries and handle accordingly.Professional therapy service implementation in accordance with Life Healthcare protocols and procedures. This will include weekend therapy provision.Supervise and train of university students, as required.Promote and maintain sound and productive relationships with referral sources and stakeholders in the field of RehabilitationRequirements
B degree / BSc degree in Physiotherapy and current HPCSA registration.At least 3-5 years’ Experience in hospital-based multi-disciplinary rehabilitation.Special interest in the treatment of adults with neurological disorders, NDT training an advantage.Basic/intermediate seating and spasticity management an advantage.Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and understanding of interdisciplinary teamworkCommitment to quality patient care and customer satisfaction/ experience is a must.Patient advocacy.Competencies
