Management Accountant

Location: Springbok

This role focuses on cost control, budgeting, stock management, and fixed asset oversight within a mining or manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have a strong accounting foundation and the ability to translate financial information into actionable insights for business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare, monitor, and analyse budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Maintain and monitor cost control processes, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
- Manage stock, inventory, and fixed assets, ensuring accurate recording, valuation, and reporting
- Act as a bridge between the Finance Manager and operational management, providing meaningful financial analysis to support decision-making
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, highlighting key insights, trends, and areas of concern
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager to support strategic planning, performance monitoring, and financial controls
- Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and internal reporting
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and control

Qualifications and

Experience:

- CA(SA) or CIMA qualified (CA(SA) advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a mining or manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in cost accounting, budgeting, stock and fixed asset management
- Strong understanding of management accounting principles and reporting requirements

Skills and

Competencies:

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between finance and operational teams
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
