Senior Accountant

Location: Delareyville

Our client in Delareyville is hiring a Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, and ensure effective accounting control procedures.
This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and oversees a finance team that includes the Financial Accountant, Commercial Accountant, and Debtors and Creditors Clerks. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, taxation, and audit coordination

Responsibilities:

• Reconciliation of control accounts
• Management of VAT submissions
• Oversight of Debtors and Creditors functions
• Compile and analyse financial information for monthly and annual financial statements
• Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with accepted accounting policies and procedures
• Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Ongoing management and support of budgets and forecasting activities
• Liaise with SARS and manage taxation matters
• Monitor and support tax compliance
• Prepare for financial audits and coordinate the audit process
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
• Supervise and lead the finance team

Requirements:

• B.Com Accounting or similar qualification
• Completed articles
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in:
  • Financial systems and budget management
  • Financial reporting
  • Financial data analysis
  • Auditing
  • Taxation
  • Providing financial advice at senior level
• Proven track record in a senior finance role
• Knowledge of Navision (advantageous but not essential)
• Strong people management skills
