The Role We are looking for an Financial Controller to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has the patience to support and guide team members who need extra help.
You’ll play a crucial role in process mapping, optimizing workflows, and handling key accounting functions, ensuring that our finance operations are both efficient and scalable.
Key Responsibilities Short-Term Focus:
Process Mapping & Optimization – Document and analyze existing workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement structured processes.
Team Role Allocation – Help define clear roles and responsibilities within the finance team to improve efficiency.
Problem-Solving & Communication – Engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify root causes of financial challenges and implement practical solutions.
Long-Term Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting:
- Oversee intergroup transactions and reconciliations.
- Prepare and review monthly VAT returns.
- Step into accounts payable or receivable when needed to support workload balance.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.
- Prepare financial reports for management.
Automation & Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for automation in financial workflows.
- Implement solutions using Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, or other tools.
Quality Control & Management Support:
- Review and check the work of others to maintain high standards of financial accuracy.
- Create insightful financial reports and dashboards for management.
Audit & Compliance:
- Assist in internal audits and prepare financials for external audits.
- Ensure financial processes comply with regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
BCom in Accounting (or equivalent).Experience &
Skills:
- Strong Excel skills (required).
- Experience with process mapping and workflow optimization (advantageous).
- Internal or external audit experience (advantageous).
- Automation experience with Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, or similar tools (advantageous).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills – able to communicate effectively across teams.
- Patience & mentorship mindset – willing to guide and support team members who need extra help.
- Adaptability – comfortable with change and unstructured processes.
- Problem-solving mindset – enjoys finding solutions that work for everyone.
- Process-oriented and organized – naturally inclined to bring order to financial workflows.
