Red Ember Recruitment, on behalf of our client, is recruiting a Finance Accountant to join their team based in .
This office-based role reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for managing and monitoring financial data across multiple entities and currencies, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, regulatory compliance, and support during audits. The role also includes limited supervision of an Office/Admin Learner and occasional travel as required.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily processing of all general ledger entries and supplier invoices.
Prepare and update daily cash flow forecasts and assist with budget monitoring.
Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany loan accounts.
Reconcile and process creditors’ invoices accurately and timeously.
Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare month-end journals and ensure accurate and complete management accounts.
Process account and expense payments via EFT and load EFT batches.
Maintain and report on fixed asset registers (FAR).
Handle consolidations across multiple entities and currencies, including forex transactions.
Assist the Payroll Accountant where required.
Prepare, process, and submit VAT and other relevant tax returns.
Liaise with auditors and revenue authorities, prepare working papers, and attend to audit queries.
Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions.
Monitor accounts to ensure timely and accurate billing and compliance with financial regulations.
Prepare invoices for services rendered and ensure accurate revenue recognition.
Manage cash flow and support financial planning initiatives.
Conduct and oversee stock counts and system checks for warehouses in Namibia, ensuring compliance with internal controls and identifying discrepancies.
Liaise with African entities’ staff to ensure financial alignment and reporting accuracy.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable financial legislation.
Perform ad hoc financial and administrative duties as required by management.
Requirements- Matric (required).
- BCom or BCom Honours degree (required).
- Completed Articles (required).
- 5–8 years’ experience in bookkeeping or financial accounting.
- Strong computer literacy, including intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of Accpac (required).
- Forex knowledge and experience with multi-currency environments (required).
- Relevant additional qualifications (advantageous).
- Willingness to travel from time to time.
